I See RED
6th Annual Small Works Show with
a benefit concert featuring the B2’s

The Olive Free Library Association is pleased to present its 6th Annual Small Works Show featuring 49 regional Hudson Valley artists displaying 73 works. The exhibition, titled “I See Red” will be displayed in the Library’s Community Gallery, and will run from Saturday, November 18, 2023 through Saturday, January 6, 2024 with an opening reception and concert fundraiser featuring The B2’s on Saturday, November 18, from 3 to 5 pm (benefit concert from 3:30 – 4:30 pm). The concert will take place in the Olive Free Library’s main library room. Drinks and snacks will be provided. A $10 donation is suggested.

Sandra Scheuer and Kathy Yacoe, curators of “I See Red” have, together with other members of the Olive Free Library’s Exhibition Committee, put together a lively and varied (but relating to the theme) exhibition of local and regional artworks, all limited to 12” x 12”, in many different media. The call for art resulted in 141 submissions of which 73 were chosen offering the community a great way to purchase works by local artists (within a 50-mile radius) at affordable prices, just in time for the holidays!

The Olive Free Library’s Exhibition committee is very excited that female vocal group The B2’s has agreed to perform during the Small Works Show’s opening reception, raising funds for its exhibitions program. The November 18 combined art opening and concert event will be one of the highlights of the Library’s holiday season. The B2’s are a Voice Ensemble founded and directed by musician, songleader, arranger, and choral director Debbie Lan. With original arrangements by Debbie, The B2’s eclectic and uplifting repertoire includes songs by Tom Waits, 4 Non Blondes, Agnes Obel, Ma Muse, Rising Appalachia, Sting, and the Indigo girls amongst others. Other B2’s members are Betty Boomer, Ruth Molloy, Suzanne Stokes, Carol Bialy, Noelle Damon, Kathy Flannery, Rita Prusinski, Vicki Koenig, and Donna Greenfield Cullen. A $10 donation is suggested with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Olive Free Library!
